Who am I?

I’m the girl who can’t be described

From my unique name

And random comments

To my bursting words

And entertaining conversations

I’m the girl who is always busy

From my loving family

To my best friends

And the new friends I meet everyday

I’m the girl who loves new things

From singing at random moments

To dancing without a care

I’m the girl who loves hanging out

From family outings

To long talks with my parents

From long sleepovers with friends

To car rides at night

I am the girl who loves to laugh

And lives to love

The girl who writes poetry

The girl writing to you

Who am I?

I’m me!

Summer

From Clear blue skies

And sunny weather

To long days

And longer nights

From sun rays gleaming

And bouncing off car windows

To even hotter days

From no shade

To more then needed shade

And all in between

From craving a cold drink

To cool breezes in the shade

From water parks

And swim suites

To sandals

And shorts

From time at the beach

And warm sand beneath my feet

These are ways to beat the heat

From sunny weather

And clear skies

Summer is the best time

San Diego Weather

San Diego is known for weather

From hot

And humid climates

To dull

And cool climates

With the changing weather

The day can be damp

From thick fog

To a cloudy day

Necessities change

From craving a cold drink

To wanting a hot drink

From iced coffees

To hot chocolates

From the need for swim suites

And large jackets

To air conditioners blasting

To heaters fired up

San Diego has different weather

And I would never want to leave

School Days

School is long

And never ending

At least it feels that way

From waking up early

And rushing to get ready

To scrambling out the door

From breakfast bars

And cereal

From riding the bus

To rushing to get to class

From reading

And writing

To math

And working on multi-media

From dragging days

And fast breaks

To lunch our longer lunch periods

From quizzes

And exams

To class work

And homework

To the end of the day

And another bus ride

I am thankful for my education

My Family

I love my family

From my mom

And my dad

To my older sister

I can always count on them

The people I admire

And the people I mirror

My family protects me

And provides for me

From my grandmothers

And grandfathers

To my aunts

And uncles

From my first

And second cousins

To the family I know

With the people I love

Family comes first

And they are always most important

My Home

Picture this

Picture a bright sky

And a house

The house is beige

And the windows are brown

From the clean windows

To the garden out front

To the cracks in the driveway

And the leaning fence

From the pine tree out front

To the gravel in the walk way

With neighbors surrounding

And constant commotion

The days are never boring

From the dogs barking

And the people passing

The sidewalk is never empty

From the porch light burning at night

To the black gate surrounding my porch

From street lights

And power lines

To cats prowling

And birds chirping

This is where I live

Typical Day

Everyday is different

From school

To falling asleep

My day has many surprises

From waking up

And eating breakfast

To brushing my teeth

And taking a long shower

From getting dressed

And packing my backpack

To putting on my shoes

And preparing to leave my house

From walking to the bus stop

And catching a ride

To transferring from bus to bus

From walking from the bus down to school

To longer bus rides back home

And even longer walks

From walking in my front door

And throwing my bags down

To turning on my favorite show

And eating snacks

As night falls

My day ends

Holidays

Holidays are amazing

A time of joy

A time for family

And a time for coming together

From creating good vibes

To spreading love

From enjoying the seasons

As well as the holidays

From creating new meaning

And finding new reasons

To giving thanks

And praising the lord

From holidays for love

And cherishing

To holidays for veterans

And heroes

From dark holidays

With costumes

And bags of candy

From big holidays

To small holidays

I love them all

Christmas Cheer

Christmas is a time for family

And friends

As well as a time for food

And gifts

From playing games

To singing carols

And ice skating

To shopping for presents

And giving gifts

From hanging lights

And missile toe

To cooking ham

And peach cobbler

From finding Christmas trees

To smelling the pine sent

From singing lights

And dancing ones

To rainbow lights

To solid ones

From visions of Santa Clause

And reindeer

Christmas cheer is the best of the year

Food

From the start of my day

To the end of my night

Food is always on my mind

From waking up to different aroma’s

To my morning plate

From eggs, bacon

And a slice of toast

To blueberry filled pancakes

With a side of butter

From drinking orange juice

And milk

To the end of my breakfast

From spaghetti

And sandwiches

To soups

And salads

With a glass of water

I end my lunch

Although there is one meal left

Breakfast

And lunches are my favorite meals

Cross Country

From my fathers trucking

To my need for adventure

Traveling is always on my mind

Form experiencing new places

And things

To experiencing different environments

From different sights

To the deserts

And cities of lights

To days spent driving

To weeks away from home

From truck stops

And restaurants

To hotels

And homes of relatives

I have been all over

From the Rocky Mountains

To New York

And St. louse

To my family in New Jersey

And North Carolina

From Washington

To Florida

My list continues to grow

My traveling will never end.

Hero

My hero is my mother

The woman who gave me life

The woman who blessed me with the best

The woman who spoils me

She is the person who keeps me focused

And on my best behavior

To the one that keeps me out of harms way

My mother provides for me

She is the one who taught me to never give up

As well as the person who does as much as possible

From her influential attitude

To the constant smile on her face

My mother is always there for me

And has never left my side

From her understanding attitude

And her openness towards my thoughts

From her great advice

To her quick thinking

And fast work

Through her many accomplishments

To her funniest stories

My mother is able to keep a secret

To long conversations

And big hugs

My mother is my hero
